Antigua

AYC salute to Antigua

Starfish House, lovely home with 2 bedroom infinity pool overlooking Jolly Harbor.

Walking distance to beach and grilled shrimp tapas on the beach.

Yoga on top of a mountain every morning. The view was amazing

Found some sailors to go sailing with. Sailed to Deep Water Cove and did some swimming.

SheerRocks for Christmas dinner, delicious tapas.

                                                                   Relaxing at Starfish.

We went to pick up Gus a day early. Circled the airport many times until we checked his ticket. He left on the 28th and arrives on the 29th. Opps.

We did move to a new place and what a disaster. The road to the pool house was sub par, like had to walk to it before I felt safe driving. Then the geckos, ants and mosquitoes lived there. We felt we should give it a try. So when the sunset we had to crawl under the netting in the bed at 6:00 to not be eaten alive. Then we found ants in the bed. swept them out. Haley decided to scramble some eggs and went to open the refrigerator and a giant cockroach flew out. That did it. We were not staying!

We packed up and cancelled the place. Picked up Gus ( on the right day) and headed back to Jolly Harbour. Found a nice Villa on Northshore with a 40 foot boat slip. All we need to do today is get a boat for the slip.

After all this we needed a little Yoga at Yoga haven.

The kids booked scuba at Plymouth Harbour. A hairy carey car ride to the scuba place.

Unfortunately we got our signals crossed on the way home and ended up on a goat trail. One flat tire and many dents in the lower body parts of the car, we made it out. Was not going to be a good place to get stuck as there was no cell service and we were really in the rough with pot holes bigger than the car surrounded by rocks. Nightmare!

Beautiful sunsets every night. We even managed to see the green flash a few times.

Gus got a ride on a Weta! What a wild ride!

More scubaing.

Afternoon lunch at SheerRocks. Lovely view and delicious.

Managed to get Buggies kite flying for the first time. He was excited.

Rainbows happened everyday.

Pot holes, rainbows and mosquitoes that about sums it up.
Would I go back.....if I had a 52ft Hylas and was cruising the Caribbean for 2 months, I would stop for a day or two.

Chesapeake Bay Sailing

Sammy First Mate, can't wait to jump in the dinghy, got to keep an eye on him!

Thanks to Ted and Deb I could wait out the time for my Visa to arrive sailing on their boat.

Well things did not go as planned, but do they ever. I was cutting the 5:00 snacks and lost the tip of my little finger.

Ended up in the minor emergency.

What fun. When things go bad they go bad.

The Chesapeake was delightful. Only draw back is that you could not swim in it.

Ted caught a bunch of crabs but because we did not have a net he could not scoop them up once they were on the surface. So we went out for dinner and it was deliciously messy. Good call to eat out and not on the boat.

First beer of the day!

Headed under the bridge to the upper Chesapeake.

Meet up with a friend from the North channel that has a boat in RockHall. So we headed up and had dinner with her. She gave us some tips on where to go.

Made it all the way up to Rock hall and had some beautiful sunsets.

Amazing how long people leave there boats. Or maybe they are just starting a bird sanctuary.

Before and after, Ted's Christmas present to me, better feet.

Had friends from DC, use to work in the UK with me, come tour Annapolis.

Then the call came and the VISA arrived, so back to NYC!
